Sometimes I honestly do think that it could be so easy to stop pulling out my hair. Why? Because I just don’t have any urge to do it. Sometimes days could go by and I barely even think about it – until I stop to notice that I haven’t pulled at all lately.

What I Like About My Hair
by mspennylane on 18. Jan, 2010 in Being honest about trich
There may be a lot of things I don’t like about my hair, but when I think about it there are also things I do like. I’m sure there’s at least something you like about yours, too.
Life, Trichotillomania and Me
by mspennylane on 07. Jul, 2009 in Being honest about trich, Coping With Trich, Cover Up, Emotional Effects of Trich, Living With Trichotillomania
Life and trichotillomania both go together for me. But what does this mean? I have accepted trichotillomania as part of who I am, but that doesn’t mean it defines me. No way!
Does Pulling My Hair Hurt?
by mspennylane on 02. Jun, 2009 in Being honest about trich, Personal Stories
I thought I would write a little about the pain involved in pulling my hair. For those who have never heard of trichotillomania, one of their first questions might be ‘does it hurt when you pull your hair out?’. They might also silently wonder if what you are doing is a form of self-harm, and [...]

by mspennylane on 07. May, 2009 in Being honest about trich

Inspirational Photos of Trichotillomania
by mspennylane on 06. Feb, 2009 in Being honest about trich, Helping others with trich, Personal Stories
I have not been aware of Flickr for that long, but a few days I realised there was a trichotillomania group. I know how difficult it is to look at photographs of myself with bald patches, which is why I think it is inspirational that people post their own photos online. It is a great [...]
Getting the Word Out About Trichotillomania
by mspennylane on 28. Sep, 2008 in Being honest about trich, Trich in the Media, What is trichotillomania?
Trichotillomania is one of those things that people don’t understand. Because of this, it can be very hard to deal with when you realise you have the condition. You may not even realise that it is a condition, and never have heard of that scary word ‘trichotillomania’ before. That is why it is so important [...]
About This Blog
My name's Penny, and I started OnTrich (a trichotillomania blog) to try and raise awareness about hair pulling, and also as a way to help me deal with my own pulling. I'm a 23 year old girl from the UK and I've been pulling for 13 years. Get in touch if you want to chat or need any help - I love meeting people here.
