I sometimes like to pull a lot of hairs at once because it feels good. I hate pulling on my hairs though because I get a few bald spots.

Hi everyone,

About 3 months ago I hit my head on a metal bar by the crown of my head(not even very hard). Ever since then I had been feeling this sensation that is so hard to describe. Just sort of an annoyance. And I constantly would have to play with my hair for it to feel good. Recently, about a week ago, I started tugging on the hairs, and now it's gotten to the point where I've started pulling them out and it feels cray good. I haven't pulled very many out, maybe 10 strands total because I don't want to lose a lot of haIR. But I have a persistant urge to pull and it's weird because before this whole ordeal it would hurt whenever I pulled out a strand of hair. What could be wrong with me? Does the metal bar incident have anything to do with it, or does this urge just start to arise naturally?

I would really like to get help now while I'm still in control.

I guess according to wikipedia I am a rarity. I actually pluck/pull/wax most of my body hair from eyebrows down. But the area I tend to focus on the most is my pubic region. I usually will pull for 20-60 minutes every night and i usually start with my face and then move down. I to like the feeling of pulling and it does calm me, but i always feel that i am hairy (mostly due to a hormone imbalance) and i cant stand any body hair that is not on top of my head, my eyebrows or eyelashes. As far as im concerned it all has to go. and i dont know if the pulling caused the feeling of not being able to stand body hair or if the feeling of not being able to stand body hair caused the pulling

Hi I pull from the scalp im a pleasure puller - it is almost - ALMOST like sex "the search "is like foreplay hearing the sound of my fingers rustel on my scalp and throgh my hair - the sound echoes in my head like soft mesmerizing breathing, once I find the hair - I play with it abit, grabing at it soft at first, then a little harder for a little longer so I can feel the tug tug on my scalp - pleasure delay.. then "the pull" long and slow "snap"- Climax!

weird I know but as a guy thats the only reason i can rationalize my continued pulling. Im able to stop pulling untill my hair grows back and I alternate locations like some sort of harvesting pattern.. so its not been a problem for me ..but i would like to stop.. its like a dirty secret or something...

ive never pulled from my head which im happy about but i do pull from my eyelashes although not as much anymore as i find i bull my chin hair more frequently now. is that sort of a weird spot? does anyone else pull from there chin? i think its a lot less noticeable as i used to pull my eyelashes and got bald spots. problem with my chin is i end up pulling all the way from the skin and sometimes pull skin with it. shaving my face which i do regularly doesnt really help oddly enough because even after i shave my face i can still pull the hairs by basically pulling at the skin to get the root. its very annoying and it makes my chin hurt as im pulling the skin.

I started realizing that I pull but thought I was alone.. I found out it runs in my family. I'll search until I found that one hair that's bothering me, even to the extent of using tweezers if I can't use my fingers.. For a while I would cover quarter size bald spots along my hairline with eye shadows. They would work but I would have to keep applying. I stopped for a while but the need for it always comes back. I used to pinch my arms and have most of them scared, but they look like bug bites. I've moved to this now. I'm trying so hard to not get out of hand with it.

i do it to, and i hate it. but i found that finding something else that makes me happy and releases endorphines helps a great deal. got to do stuff that doesnt allow time for the brain to go to that state. i go to the gym,..bring my ipod, or the pool. believe it or not i even go to tanning salons once in a while to increase the vitamin D which is believed to help with mood elevation which chippers me up and i dont have time to sit and habitually go to the pulling. hope this helped. give it a try.

A lot of people have the issue of pulling when stressed, depressed or other things. I personally find that I do it when i'm just watching tv or searching the web. when im not at school, but just sitting down doing nothing with my hands. I have no reason to do it but for the feeling it gives me. If it was due to stress or depression i'd have taken pills along time ago and just stopped but its for how great it feels. I pull from the crown and I clip my hair over the spots so noone sees it. I dont notice how much i pull, ill look in the mirror and gasp thinking 'wow, i didnt think i pulled that much' ive tried many times to stop and whats so weird to me is that when i pull the only thing running through my mind is 'OH I BET I CAN PULL MORE HAIR OUT TODAY! LETS DO IT!' like trying to compete with myself to pull out a ton of hair and when im done it doesnt set in til about 30 mins later and i go 'what the hell, why did i do that?' Why arent these thoughts running through our heads while we pull. when someone tells me to stop, i seriously cant seem to put my hands down. i keep going even though they scream and yell at me. Its near impossible to stop for me.

I only pull my eyebrows and I have been doing it for years. I am 27 now, but I saw a picture of me in first grade and it looked liek I had shaved part of one of my brows. My eye brows are very thick- so i have to pull a lot for it to be noticable. I dont do it all the time, but i have did it a lot today. after I start doing it, its like my eyebrows become itchy and i can't stop. I think it happened a lot today becasue I was super stressed at work. It embarrassing to me me, I always wonder if someone saw me doing it after I realize what I'm doing!! Sometimes I have to coloe part of my brow in with make-up. Its very annoying, but I did notice putting a lot of lotion in my brows seems to help. It make them slippery so I can't actually pull the hair and somewhat releaves the itch. I started documenting when I did it alot by taking pictures with my phone, just so I could keep track and maybe show my doctor if it ever gets totally out of control.
