I have not been aware of Flickr for that long, but a few days I realised there was a trichotillomania group. I know how difficult it is to look at photographs of myself with bald patches, which is why I think it is inspirational that people post their own photos online. It is a great way of helping people to understand this condition.
Here are a few photographs from the group:

Hm… you just made me realise that sometimes I’ll pull out some eye lashes. But I do it when my eyes are itchy and instead of rubbing it (because I’m wearing make up or something) I’ll pull at my eye lashes instead and sometimes some come out and sometimes nothing comes out. I don’t do it to pull out the eye-lashes…. or is that still the same? LOL
I do that too! haha, it’s weird.
I pull out my eye lashes too!
My mom got really worried because before my midterms I got so stressed that i pulled out every one of my eye lashes. So she got me fake eye lashes and i havent gone a day without wearing them
i am 26 and have done this since i was 3 ive tried almost everything! and it keeps getting worse! its the most frustrating thing in my life.
I have had trichotillomania for quite a while now. I am really trying to stop doing it. Im 19, in the UK. I definately think there is not enough awareness of trich.
I went to counselling late 2010, and stopped it for a while, but I have returned to a stressful situation, and it’s getting bad again.
For a while, before getting counselling, I had no eyelashes
I used to pull from my eyebrows and then it moved onto my eyelashes.
I find it easier to talk online to people about it, because it’s anonymous, but a couple of my friends do know about it.
I don’t know anyone with it, but I probably have friends with it who I don’t know about.
