I don’t know about you, but I think trichotillomania is a kind of horrible word. I’ve gotten used to it, but when I really think about it, it’s not nice at all!

by mspennylane on 16. Apr, 2009 in Being honest about trich, Cover Up
I wrote recently about bald women and how inspiring I find some of them. I really do believe that bald is beautiful, and the only real problem is that we aren’t all used to seeing bald women. In fact, if I decided today I was going to shave my head people would probably assume I [...]
Bald Women – Why So Shocking?
by mspennylane on 02. Apr, 2009 in Cover Up
Proportionately there aren’t many women who are bald compared to men. It makes sense, since hair loss can be a lot more common in men. This probably explains why it seems to be a lot more shocking to see a bald woman than a bald man. But should it be? Daring to Be Bald I [...]

My Trich Story
by mspennylane on 02. Aug, 2008 in Being honest about trich, Living With Trichotillomania, Personal Stories, Support
POSTED BY: mspennylane When I was about 9 I got a hair braid in my hair on holiday, and I always used to fiddle with it. When I finally undid it I continued the fiddling, which turned to pulling out the hair and it went from there (I was, in fact, quite prone to ‘habits’ [...]
