1. How long it is now I’ve been growing it for the last few years,
2. The way it gets blonde streaks in the sun,
3. How I have so much hair, but it’s so fine that pulling doesn’t seem as obvious,
4. How it looks when it’s tied up in a plait,
5. How I finally just let it grow into its natural colour, and I like it,
6. How soft some parts of it can get when I’ve just washed or straightened it,
7. How I can hide behind it sometimes (even though I know I shouldn’t),
8. How it reminds me of everything I’ve been through.
There may be a lot of things I don’t like about my hair, but when I think about it there are also things I do like. I’m sure there’s at least something you like about yours, too.

My name's Penny, and I started OnTrich (a trichotillomania blog) to try and raise awareness about hair pulling, and also as a way to help me deal with my own pulling. I'm a 22 year old girl from the UK and I've been pulling for 12 years. Get in touch if you want to chat or need any help - I love meeting people here.

Thank you, this inspired me.
Thank you Patricia – I hope there are a few things you like about your hair too
